For most of us, Teams is an environment for collaborative working. We use it to create teams that work together using the 0365 tools. However, sometimes we just need to perform a simple task that takes only a little while, and the creation of a team seems unnecessary. Besides more permanent teams, Teams can be used for short-term purposes to manage an individual task between multiple participants.
What do I need?
Only Teams and the need to talk about something.
What do I need to do?
The Chat view is on the left side of your Teams main page. You can chat with one or more people in Teams.
To talk with others, you can use the chat, audio call or the online meeting features. You can also share and co-edit files. When you chat with one or more persons, the discussion thread will be stored in Teams.
What should I take into account?
All discussions (and the materials shared during them) are automatically saved in Teams. If you do not want multiple discussions displayed in the chat window on the left, you can hide them by clicking the three dots next to the chat shortcut.

If you often share materials with someone, you should read more about the use of tabs in Teams. Tabs help you build an overall picture of the topic if you are sharing a great deal of materials. Enjoy working with Teams!
