Discussions and video calls with Teams

For most of us, Teams is an environment for collaborative working. We use it to create teams that work together using the 0365 tools. However, sometimes we just need to take care of an individual task or a task that takes only a little while, and the creation of a team seems unnecessary. Besides more permanent teams, Teams can be used for short-term purposes and to manage an individual task between multiple participants.

What do I need?

Only Teams (online or chat).

What do I need to do?

The Chat is on the left side of the Teams main page. Start the new conversation with person/persons in your organization. To discuss with others, use the discussion board, the call feature or the video conferencing tool. You can also share and co-edit files. You can carry out discussions with one of more persons, and the thread will be stored in Teams.

What should I take into account?

All discussions threads (and the materials shared during them) are automatically saved in Teams. This way you don’t have start new conversation every time you want to chat with same people. Just search your previous chat from the list or via search field and continue your conversation. If you do not want multiple discussions displayed in the chat window on the left, you can hide them by clicking on the three dots next to the discussion shortcuts.
