Coordinated by the Work Research Centre, the project will deliver publicly accessible training materials and a chatbot tool. The project will also feature webinars, podcasts, and written content for various publications.
- Recruitment is expensive and time-consuming, and recruiters often work under intense time pressure. We have research-based knowledge and expertise that we want to disseminate and make available for use in Finnish working life, says Project Manager Heidi Lehtovaara.
- Even with skills shortages, current approaches can inadvertently leave relevant expertise outside the recruitment process. The labor market is evolving to be more diverse, and recruitment practices must adapt to remain effective, adds Anna Aalto, Program Director at the Ami Foundation, which is funding the project.
The project’s researchers have diverse backgrounds: Sami Koivunen has studied the digitalization of recruitment from the perspective of recruitment professionals. Matti Laukkarinen has researched the use of algorithmic recommendation tools in recruitment. Heidi Lehtovaara is completing her doctoral thesis and has worked as a researcher on a project focusing on equitable recruitment.
Partners in the “Inclusive Recruitment” project include Duunitori, the City of Helsinki/Stadin HR, Sinun tekoäly Oy, StartupRefugees, and the Federation of Finnish Enterprises (Suomen Yrittäjät)
The project’s first webinar will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, in collaboration with the Uusimaa ELY Centre’s national “Future Labor Markets” project. The program and registration link will be added to the “Inclusive Recruitment” project website: https://sites.tuni.fi/reilurekrytointi/. The webinar will be held in Finnish.
