Finnish Ceramic Society

The Finnish Ceramic Society is an association founded in 1949 that acts as a link between ceramic industry professionals, universities, companies, ceramists, and private individuals as part of the European umbrella organization for ceramic associations. In 2024, the society established a glass division and aims to bring ceramic and glass research and industry together under one roof in Finland. The society’s main event is the annual ’Ceramic Day’. In addition, the association develops the professional qualifications of personnel in the ceramic industry and promotes education and research in the field.

The association maintains contact with Nordic and European research and industry umbrella organizations (European Ceramic Society – ECerS / European Ceramic Industry Association – Cerame-Unie), as well as international and US umbrella organizations (International Ceramic Federation – ICF / American Ceramic Society – ACerS). From 2025 the Finnish Ceramic Society represents Finland in the International Commission on Glass (ICG) organization of societies.
