How have you used something learned during your MEL studies in practice?
Faster than expected, my participation in the MEL programme had a positive effect on my career. I switched to a new position in my organization, where I am now working as a Content Manager for the Alumniportal Deutschland. The Alumniportal Deutschland is a social network designed to promote networking and sharing of information among Germany-Alumni, companies, universities and organisations. It encourages its users to discuss specialist issues, develop their skills and benefit from the expertise of others. One big task for this year is to develop a concept for an “Alumni Academy”, which will offer various learning and training opportunities for its users. Here, I can draw on what I have learned during my MEL courses. I am thinking of doing my Master’s project on this topic as well to interlink my MEL studies with work even more.
How have you personally grown since enrolling in the MEL programme?
My participation in the MEL programme definitely offered room for personal growth, especially when it comes to time management, organization skills and resilience. But besides the strains of doing an MBA while working full-time and trying to have a social life from time to time, it has been a really enjoyable experience as well, including the most inspiring fellow students and great intensive weeks in Tampere.
