Safety and Security Management in Organisations, Master’s Degree Programme (in Finnish)
Organisations’ operating environments are changing faster than ever. Safety has become a cross‑cutting element that affects the entire organisational landscape. Companies need professionals who can perceive risks, resources, people, technologies and operational chains as an integrated whole and who are able to manage safety as part of strategy and everyday decision‑making.
The Master’s Degree Programme in Safety and Security Management in Organisations is designed for those who aim to deepen and broaden their expertise in safety and security management. The studies provide an opportunity to advance one’s knowledge and skills in the strategic management and development of corporate and organisational safety and security.
The programme is implemented in a multidisciplinary manner and in cooperation with companies within the Pirkanmaa Safety and Security Cluster, as well as with visiting experts from the Police University College.
The content of the programme is practical and grounded in working life needs. The studies are delivered flexibly as online learning and can be completed alongside full time employment.
Students will learn to:

· understand key factors related to security of supply and operational reliability
· develop resilience and staff crisis endurance
· examine safety and security as part of the organisation’s strategy

Key themes within the programme include crisis leadership and foresight, risk management, crisis communication, cybersecurity and information security, environmental safety, strategic security of supply and dual‑use technologies, trauma‑informed leadership, and psychological resilience.
The duration of studies is 1.5 years (90 ECTS credits for social and health care professionals, Bachelors of Business Administration, Bachelors of Hospitality Management, and Bachelors of Forestry) or 1 year (60 ECTS credits for engineers and Bachelors of Media).
