Pre-task instructions

PART 1

Thesis topic proposal
The applicants are required to submit a thesis topic proposal. A thesis topic proposal is a document that outlines the subject or area of research the applicant intends to explore for his/her thesis. It serves as a preliminary plan that communicates the focus and scope of the proposed research. The thesis topic proposal should be grounded in a thorough analysis of the current situation and the available resources and opportunities.

Typically, the thesis topic proposal is prepared for a company or other organization that the applicant is affiliated with or interested in. The applicant can choose to work on a thesis topic proposal for their employer, some other organization, or their own company. The applicant should select a topic that is relevant and meaningful for their field of study and professional development.

The thesis topic proposal must show the applicant’s readiness to work independently in demanding expertise tasks. The applicant must indicate creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in designing and implementing the thesis topic proposal. The applicant must follow ethical principles and academic standards when drafting the thesis topic proposal.

In the proposal the following aspects should be considered:

  • The title of the thesis topic proposal
  • Information about the commissioner (i.e. for whom the plan is done and why the thesis topic is important to the commissioner)
  • Statement and definition of the research problem and the research objectives
  • How the plan will be executed (i.e. methods, resources, schedule)

The proposal is submitted as a PDF-file attachment of the application e-form. The file name must be firstname.familyname.24YIBM.pdf (replace firstname.family with your firstname and family name, e.g. john.smith.24YIBM.pdf)

Requirements for the proposal

  • Length of proposal: (7000 – 8000 characters) + references
  • The thesis topic proposal is an original creation by the applicant, and not generated or heavily influenced by AI tools
  • TAMK will check the document for plagiarism and AI generated text

Criteria for evaluation

  • Significance and relevance within the context of contemporary business
  • Suitability of the topic for the Master’s degree in International Business Management
  • Innovativeness and complexity of the chosen topic
  • Language, clarity, logic, and structure of the text. Feasibility for implementation
  • Adherence to guidelines and instructions

 PART 2

Video selfie
Create a brief video clip, not exceeding 90 seconds, showcasing why you are an ideal candidate for the program. Ensure that your presentation is both engaging and informative. It is essential that you appear in the video in a manner that makes you easily recognizable. Provide a concise summary of your qualifications, skills, and unique attributes that make you a strong fit for the program.

The video selfie is submitted as a video-file attachment of the application e-form. The file name must be firstname.familyname.video.24YIBM (replace firstname.family with your firstname and family name, e.g. john.smith.video.24YIBM.mp4)

Max 50 points for part 1 and part 2 together
