The number of international students has grown each year, totalling 1,042 students in 2023. Of this number, 1,010 students studied under a bachelor’s or a master’s degree programme and 32 in professional teacher education. More than three out of four (77%) international students originate from outside the EU/EEA.

Internationality is a part of all TAMK’s operations. In addition to studying in a degree programme in English, all degree students have the opportunity to complete part of their studies abroad. Approximately two out of three (66%) graduated students felt that TAMK provided good opportunities to complete practical training and/or student exchange abroad (source: AVOP survey).

Personnel mobility is on the revival after the exceptional times, even though we are still far away from the pre-coronavirus levels (in 2019, both outgoing and incoming numbers were 577, totalling 1,154). Personnel mobility statistics are compiled in accordance with criteria specified by the Ministry of Education and Culture. These criteria do not include conference trips which in 2023 totalled 43 (58 in 2022).

The number of full-time international personnel, as measured in man-years, was 14 in 2023. This number has not changed significantly in the last couple of years.
