Explore the DigiPort facilities!

The DigiPort system creates a virtual connection between the city centre campus and the Hervanta campus. The DigiPort spaces enable two groups on different campuses to connect remotely for more genuine interaction. Wall-size displays that increase the sense of presence also enhance remote participants’ involvement in the local group. Interaction between the remote participants takes place through Zoom.

You can book the Digiport rooms through the booking system Resource Booker. The Digiport space is Pinni B4125 on the city centre campus and Hervanta campus in rooms Pedalab/SB100 in the Sähkötalo building and Showroom A118 in the Kampusareena building.

The DigiPort facilities are meeting rooms equipped with a wall-to-wall screen (8 x 2.4 m). Remote participants can also be projected onto the screens via Zoom video conferencing. Because the participants on the screens appear almost life-size, the DigiPort space creates a more authentic sense of shared space for participants than traditional video conferencing.

The screens can be used to share educational material, such as images and videos, or to show video of group members physically seated elsewhere. The material can be displayed simultaneously in both Digiportti spaces. The cameras in the space allow participants to move around the room, so participants do not have to sit at a computer to apper in video.

Book the DigiPort spaces and discover a new kind of remote experience!
