Working visually with Vision

Do you need a change in the way you visualise data and build graphs? It’s time to try Vision, a graph and vector graphics software. Through O365, you can use Visio to visualise large customer projects and processes by creating an image or diagram of them.

What do I need?

You can find Visio in the O365 application menu and in OneDrive when start to create a file there.

How do I need to do?

You can start from a blank wall and add the images you want to the board.

Alternatively, you can choose a ready-made template to start editing.Vision has many ready-made templates that will automatically bring up a collection of shapes to suit your needs. Next to the templates is an illustrative description to help you make your selection. You can also choose a theme to provide a background and a matching set of colours.

The Vision toolbars follow the structure familiar from other Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). You can also share a Visio file in the same way.

Visio allows you to create a variety of flow charts, organisation charts, floor plans and technical drawings. In teaching, it can be used, for example, to draw concept maps and illustrate the connections between things.

What should I take into account?

The desktop version of  Vision is available for a fee in the Tampere University community. The free online version is also available to students.
