Learn by Creating
Students work in cross-disciplinary teams to design and build playable games for real clients. These projects are developed to a professional standard and showcased every spring at Tampere-talo’s Game Expo, where the best teams often go on to publish their games.
Our teaching combines expertise from TAMK’s Media and Arts and Information and Communication Technology units. You’ll learn from experienced teachers, game developers, and visiting industry professionals through workshops, mentoring, and guest lectures — open to all Games Academy students.

There are several ways to become part of the Games Academy community:

How It Works
The academic year is divided into four teaching periods (TP1–TP4):
-
Autumn (TP1–TP2) focuses on 2D game development
-
Spring (TP3–TP4) moves into 3D game creation
Most Games Academy courses are worth 5 ECTS credits, and students can start with an Introduction to 3D Modelling (3 ECTS) to build foundational skills. The primary development environment is Unity, complemented by modern tools for art, sound, and project management.
