About the Network

The SpacEconomy Cross‑Studying Network is a national collaboration that enables students to access space‑related courses across eight Finnish higher education institutions and build multidisciplinary expertise for the growing space sector.

SpacEconomy Cross-Studying Network was established in June 2026 within the SpacEconomy project, funded by the Strategic Research Council.

The Spaceconomy Cross‑Studying Network is a national collaboration between six Finnish universities and two Universities of Applied Sciences aimed at strengthening multidisciplinary education and skills in the rapidly growing space sector.

Partner organisations:
Tampere University (coordinator)
Aalto University
Laurea University of Applied Sciences
Satakunta University of Applied Sciences
University of Helsinki
University of Oulu
University of Turku
University of Vaasa

The network brings together leading higher education institutions across Finland, each contributing their own area of expertise within the space domain. Through this collaboration, students gain access to a broader range of courses than is available at their home university.

The network enables students to:

  • Enroll in selected space‑related courses across partner institutions
  • Build interdisciplinary expertise in e.g. satellite navigation, satellite systems, physics, earth observation and data sciences
  • Tailor their studies according to their interests within the space economy

This site collects the courses provided within the network. The first enrolment opportunity is in Autumn 2026 and the course offering is updated annually. Some courses are provided only in-person teaching and some courses have hybrid or remote participation opportunities. For detailed course information, see the Sisu and Peppi systems.

Institutions under the Ministry of Education and Culture can join seamlessly through a common agreement. We also welcome institutions under other ministries and would be happy to explore collaboration options together.
