Who are Optica and Student Chapters?​

Optica

  • Professional organization in the field of optics and photonics
  • ~22 000 members internationally
  • Publishes journals and organizes conferences and events
  • The main mission is to promote optics and photonics both scientifically and educationally

Student Chapter

  • Group of students (Optica members) located in some area (e.g. university)
  • Organize activities for the benefit of the students (PhD, undergraduate) and the community
  • Technical knowledge, career development, outreach
  • Funding and support from Optica
