This is one of the biggest event that happens in Tampere and this year we happened to be a part of it.
The student chapters (SPIE and OPTICA) joined hands to get the tent set up at morning along with the demo kits and light puzzles.
We happened to represent Tampere University along with our chapters and this was one busy event. The kits included,
- A Laser puzzle
- Kaleidoscopes
- Diffractive optic lens
- A water experiment to demonstrate invisibility based on Refractive Index matching
- A plastic lens setup to demonstrate bending of laser light
- Glowsticks to demonstrate luminescence
- And a few more…
Passerby and curious people had a talk with our student members, taking turns to explain things in both Finnish and English. It was quite pleasant to see all age groups sharing the same level of enthusiasm.
