TLC blog writing guidelines
The Teaching and Learning Centre invites all staff members of the higher education community to contribute to the TLC blog! The blog provides a space for current reflections on higher education teaching, guidance and learning.
Instructions for authors
- Your blog post should reflect your personality, your own thoughts, and perspectives.
- The text should challenge the reader to ask questions and engage in discussion.
- Your post may relate to a conference or a trip, but we do not publish pure travel stories or reports. Instead, highlight an important insight you gained during the event or journey.
- We do not publish pure project presentations, but your post may address themes that emerged in a project supporting higher education pedagogy.
- Use an inspiring title.
- Begin your post with an introduction that captures the reader’s interest.
- The maximum length of a blog post is 4,000 characters, including spaces; there is no minimum length.
- We recommend avoiding tables.
- The editorial team will add an illustration at the beginning of the text, or you may suggest an image yourself. The main blog image must be horizontal, but images within the text can also be vertical.
- If you refer to a specific method, theory, or project in your text, please ensure that readers can access additional information, for example, through links.
- If you wish to use references, please follow the APA 7 citation style and include a reference list.
- You may write in Finnish or English. Please check the language yourself. We publish blog posts on the site corresponding to their language version.
Send your text proposal as a Word file to tlc@tuni.fi. The editorial team will contact you if necessary before publication. We will notify you by email once your post is published, and you may promote it on social media or through various channels within the higher education community.
