TAMK WellTech Lab was present with its own exhibition stand, showcasing the lab’s versatile learning, research, and development environments. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the facilities and their potential for testing, evaluating, and promoting the adoption of gerontechnology, as well as for providing education and training related to these themes. Throughout the day, our stand attracted considerable interest, and we engaged in insightful discussions with representatives from companies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders in the field.
As part of the exhibitors’ joint introduction session, Jukka-Pekka Pirhonen delivered a brief one-minute presentation introducing WellTech Lab. The concise presentation provided participants with an overview of the lab’s activities and highlighted how WellTech Lab supports the development, testing, and user-centred implementation of gerontechnology in collaboration with a wide range of partners.
Perhaps the most important message of the event emerged both in the keynote presentations and in the discussions throughout the day: the full potential of gerontechnology can only be realised through collaboration. Complex societal challenges cannot be solved by a single organisation, professional group, or sector. Success requires multidisciplinary expertise, shared goals, and continuous dialogue. This message strongly resonated with WellTech Lab’s own philosophy, which emphasises developing, evaluating, and implementing technologies together with users, professionals, companies, and researchers.
The day proved highly rewarding for WellTech Lab. Our stand served as a platform for establishing new contacts and exploring potential forms of cooperation. Particularly encouraging was the fact that discussions with visitors led to agreements on follow-up meetings and visits to WellTech Lab. These interactions further strengthen the lab’s role as a platform for developing, piloting, and networking around gerontechnology solutions.

WellTech Lab will continue its active work in bringing together different stakeholders and enabling new innovations. The conversations held throughout the day left us with a strong belief that by working together, we can create increasingly impactful solutions to support the wellbeing of the ageing population.
