At the pop-up, visitors could test equipment from Sote Virtual Lab designed to promote relaxation and measure sleep quality. Featured devices included the Emfit QS bed sensor, a vibroacoustic beanbag chair, and the Somnox sleep robot. A total of 52 people received guidance during the day.
The event included sleep coaches and an HR specialist from Terveystalo, as well as TAMK students and a supervising teacher. “At first we were nervous, but the interactions soon felt natural,” the students said.
The pop-up was part of the partnership between TAMK and Terveystalo and served as a trial for the future operations of the Wellness Clinic. The clinic offers students a new type of internship model where wellness services are provided to partners. “We are exploring whether activities like this could become part of the clinic’s services in the future,” says Senior Planner Soile Iivonen.
Sote Virtual Lab, which will be known as Well Tech Lab at the turn of the year, is a multidisciplinary development environment where the higher education community, companies, and social and health organizations develop digital and virtual services. The Ratina event demonstrated that technology and human-centered interaction can work together to promote well-being.
