The student lounge thanks all visitors! Lounge continues next year.

The student lounge of Sote Virtual Lab was open for the last time on Thursday, November 21st before the Christmas break. The atmosphere of christmas was already in the air, there were gingerbread, sweets and the lounge guests also received a safety-enhancing gift. Can you guess what it was? :D

The student lounge was organized four times in the fall semester of 2024. The lounge was for four hours at a time. There were a total of 85 visitors in the lounge during the semester.  Among the visitors there were, among others, social work-, radiology-, nursing-,  nursing (TOKASA)-, bioanalyst-, music pedagogue-, machine automation- and paramedic students. Visitors stopped by to get to know the lab facilities and the lounge during the coffee break between lectures, while others enjoyed themselves for a long time, for example, on a vibrating bean bag chair, with a sleep robot and inside a cylinder. Group work and other school assignments were also done in the student living room.

One of the best things about the student lounge has been the opportunity to meet students in a relaxed and unhurried manner. It was also noted with some students that sometimes time and space are needed for meeting others, free thinking and discussion. The lab equipment aroused interest and there was a lot of discussion about it, for example related to theses. The multidisciplinary nature of the studies and/or the lack thereof also aroused reflection. The wish for working and learning together came up in many discussions.

These are among the themes that we want to tackle in Sote Virtual Lab team. For next year, we are planning multidisciplinary teaching together between social work, machine automation and nursing students!

The student lounge will continue after the Christmas break. We will confirm the dates by the end of the semester. The student lounge and Sote Virtual Lab team thank you and wish everyone a relaxed pre-Christmas time!
