The webinar will introduce international research and good practices on senior housing with short lectures (keynote lecture by Sarah Wigglesworth), and case presentations, and include a panel discussion with our Finnish project members. Detailed program is below.

Sarah Wigglesworth, RDI MBE RIBA
Is a sought-after speaker and published worldwide as an architect with 30 years of experience in practice. She was also a Professor of Architecture at the University of Sheffield for 19 years. There she led the DWELL research project designing exemplary neighbourhoods and housing for older people. She is acknowledged as a pioneering influence in British architecture and has extensive expertise in green and sustainable design. Her work is characterised by careful theorising of the issues unique to each project and close engagement with clients and users.
Accoplishments:
- 2003: Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to architecture
- 2010: CABE Commissioner
- 2012: Royal Designer for Industry (RDI)

Irene Craik
Irene Craik has been a Director at Levitt Bernstein architects since 2002. With particular expertise in specialist housing, she leads projects, which often combine both residential and healthcare requirements. She is an expert in housing for older people and has led a number of projects like this, including Hazelhurst Court and Buccleuch House. She co-authored the HAPPI report in 2009 and contributed to the HAPPI 2 report in 2012.
She has also worked across the arts and commercial sectors, where many projects involve the creative re-use of existing historic buildings for a wide variety of uses.
