PAINT SHOP IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED.
The space is available during FabLab’s opening hours. Please note that FabLab does not sell paints. The paint shop is located in room SA111B.
Paint Shop rules:
1. Safety and Equipment
- Personal protective equipment: Use a respirator and protective gloves when necessary.
- Ventilation: Ensure that local exhaust ventilation is on during work and after finishing.
2. Working Practices and Cleanliness
- Dust control: Keep the space as dust-free as possible. Do not use compressed air in the room.
- Protection: Cover the painting surface with protective paper before starting work.
- Working environment: Allow other paint work to dry undisturbed. Avoid unnecessary movement to prevent dust from rising.
3. Handling of Tools and Paints
- Storage: Paints may not be stored in the painting room. Each user must bring and remove their own paints and painting tools.
- Cleaning: Water-based brushes, rollers, and spray equipment may be cleaned at the painting room wash station. Do not pour paint, solvents, or thinners down the drain.
4. Waste Management
- Hazardous waste: Take solvents, thinners, and liquid paint waste to a hazardous waste collection point (not available at FabLab).
- Rags: Dispose of oily or solvent-soaked rags in a lidded metal container (risk of spontaneous combustion).
5. Finishing Procedures
- Cleaning: Clean the workspace and return tools to their proper place.
- Shutdown: Leave the local exhaust ventilation on. Lights will turn off automatically.
