- Idea!
Search free vector files from freepik.com or vecteezy.com or make your own design.
- Software
Inkscape and Adobe Illlustrator are vector graphic softwares. Inkscape is free to download on your own computer and Illustrator is installed on FabLab PCs beside the windows.
- Preparing your file
Use vector graphic files. ai, eps and pdf (vector form) files work with the cutting program. Thickness of the line does not matter. All the lines are cut.
- Book vinyl cutter
You can do it in Resource Booker reservation in system.
Make great stickers on your wall or cool heat transferred figures on your t-shirt!!
- Pick a roll from our material store
Width of the vinyl roll is 60 cm and the heat transfer film is 50 cm. In heat transfer films the actual color in inside.
- Cutting your design
Feed the roll to cutter and open your file in Winplot software. There you can scale, rotate and copy your design and if you are using heat transfer film, remember to flip horizontally your design! Try to use hole lenght of the roll by placing objects wisely. Then just press Send to cutter!
- Prosess time
Cutting is pretty fast, but after cutting, peeling off all the extra pieces of your work, may take more time. Use can use tweezers for that.
- Finally!
If you have vinyl sticker, use painters tape to transfer objects. And with heat transfer film, warm up the heat press to 150 degrees and press objects to fabric for 15 seconds.
