Associate Professor Paulo Cachim has a focus on concrete and timber structures but is also a member of the RISCO research unit that aims to promote the development of sustainable and resilient cities.
During the tour around the Faculty of Built Environment and the Civil Engineering Lab, research group members found a common interest in advancing sustainability and circularity in construction.
Tampere University and the University of Aveiro are members of the ECIU University which provides a foundation for future research collaboration.
In short term, the KCRED’s new research project CircBuild offers a platform for international collaboration and the two universities are looking for possibilities for research exchange visits in the future.

It also provided a chance to connect with ECIU partners, explore potential collaborations and joint applications for future research projects.
