Working with the laser cutter is fast, which is why reservations are limited to a maximum of 2 hours per session. Laser cutters can be booked until 6:45 PM from Monday to Thursday, and until 2:45 PM on Fridays.
You will need a vector-based file for the laser cutters. Suitable file formats include .dxf, vector-based .pdf, and .dwg. For 2D modelling you can use for example the following software:
– Adobe Illustrator (FabLab)
– InkScape (can be downloaded for free)
– SolidWorks (FabLab, Hervanta Campus library)
Here you can find materials (pdf) suitable for laser cutting and Plastic types (pdf) suitable for laser engraving.
