Tampere University of Applied Sciences attracts applicants

TAMK is the second most popular university of applied sciences in Finland. In the 2020 applications we had 24 405 applicants in total. The number of applicants rose by 14.5% compared to the year before. 48% of the applicants had marked TAMK as their primary choice. We have an average of almost four primary applicants per study place.
Employment

75% have a job at graduation, over 70% of those in the Tampere Region. A year after graduation, approximately 90% are employed. The master’s degrees have the highest employment rate, 90%. The top three fields with the highest employment rate are Construction Management and Construction Architecture, Health Care and Social Service, and Hospitality Management.
Five years after graduation, 83% of career survey respondents consider that they can still use the competence they learnt at TAMK in their present-day work.

The number of students is growing both in bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes and professional teacher education. The total number of students in degree-awarding education is 10 006 and in professional teacher education 542.
Even if 2020 was an exceptional year and studies mainly took place remotely, a record number of credits were completed at TAMK. The number of completed cross-institutional studies doubled. Especially cross-institutional studies between Tampere University and TAMK are popular.

The number of graduates in degree-awarding education in 2020 was 2025 in total and in professional teacher education 262. 2/3 of bachelor’s degree students graduated during the normative duration of studies. Smooth academic progress and graduation during the normative duration of studies are important for students as well as working life.
