TAMK's Future

Tapio Kujala: Strong competence provides a good basis for new challenges

TAMK is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Finland. With its different fields and seven schools, it has the keys to future working life skills. According to many national and international estimates, new professions will develop in the borderland between our degree programmes. A couple of years ago, we would hardly have believed that a youtuber or e-athlete could be professions. The need for professionals will also grow in TAMK’s traditional and strong areas. More registered nurses, engineers, salespersons, early childhood educators and professional teachers are needed. TAMK graduates keep the Finnish everyday life running, without them our society would come to a stop.

Many future changes will challenge TAMK. We will develop more and more international. In the future, about every fifth TAMK student will come from outside Finland. Our role is also to challenge the working life. To do better, in a more competitive and responsible manner. Our aim is to offer the Tampere Region and Finnish society the keys to cope with nasty challenges, which may once more wait around the corner.

In Tampere, we also make the universities community. Our staff will ardently implement TAMK’s strategy together with students. We will challenge ourselves, set goals and create new innovations every year. The community rejoices in successes and sustains in case of setbacks. Above all, we will succeed. Together.
