Sisu-TUNI EXAM integration (12.10.2022)

Attaching an electronic exam to an implementation

An exam must be attached to an implementation by the examiner on the Basic information page of the exam. In a basic case, each electronic exam, has its own assessment item (Exam) and an implementation (Exam) in Sisu, to which the exam is attached in the EXAM system, but this is not necessary in all cases. If needed, you can discuss the options with the administrator of the implementation or ask advice by e-mail at exam@tuni.fi.

Instructions when creating a new electronic exam:

  1. Log in to the EXAM system with your Tuni ID.
  2. Click the button Create new exam, which you will find in the top right corner of the Dashboard page.
  3. Select the type of the exam.
  4. Use the Course code search field. Search for an implementation using the course code.
  5. Select the correct implementation from the options available.
  6. Check the other settings on the Basic information page and click on the Save button.

Instructions when using an old electronic exam:

  1. Log in to the EXAM system with your Tuni ID.
  2. Find the exam from the Dashboard page. Depending on the exam status it can be found on the tab Active exams, Unasessed exams, Archived exams or Drafts.
  3. The recommendation is to make a copy of the exam for a new implementation. Press the copy image, which is found on the right side of the exam.
  4. Select the type of the exam.
  5. Use the Course code search field. Search for an implementation using the course code.
  6. Select the correct implementation from the options available.
  7. Check the other settings on the Basic information page and click on the Save button.

Please note:

  • In EXAM system, the name of an implementation is formed as follows: “course name, implementation name, implementation duration”. This is used to distinguish the right implementations from other implementations of the same course.
  • It is recommended that a new exam is created in the EXAM system for a new implementation. The Copying an exam function allows you to use an existing exam as the basis for a new one.
  • If an exam has already been published, but there are no student enrolments yet, you can change the implementation on the Basic information page of the exam.
  • In a basic case, each EXAM exam has its own assessment item (Exam) and an implementation (Exam) in Sisu, to which the exam is attached in the EXAM system.
  • The EXAM system shows all ongoing and future implementations. Closed implementations can not be found in the EXAM system.
  • In EXAM, an exam can only be attached to one implementation, but it is possible to attach several electronic exams to one implementation.
  • If you want assessment information to be automatically transferred to Sisu, select “Whole course grade” as the exam type. In EXAM, the whole course grade means the overall completion of the implementation. In addition, the exam must have the same grading scale as the assessment item.
