Access instructions
To access the electronic exam rooms on the City Centre Campus, you need an access card that works on the City Centre Campus (student card or key card). Please ensure in good time before your exam that your access rights are in order. More detailed instructions can be found on the following page: Student access to campus facilities | Tampere University.
Note: An exception is the electronic exam room in the Virta building. In the Virta building’s exam room Virta 123, a new access procedure will be introduced on 1 October 2025. News on the intranet.

The exam room is located on the 4th floor of the Pinni B building. Storage lockers are located in the corridor near the exam room, and their e-Smart locks work with all common cards: bank card, library card, bus card, gym card, and most standard access badges and tags. Note: The e-Smart lock does not work with passports, ID cards, smartphones, or American Express cards.

Virta 123, Virta, City centre
The exam room is located on the 1st floor of the Virta building. The storage lockers are situated in front of the room and can be accessed with a self-selected PIN code.
Access instructions from 1 October 2025 onwards: The exam room door will be open on the hour for 20 minutes. The door opens 5 minutes before the hour and closes 15 minutes past the hour. Identification with a student card or key card at the exam room door is no longer required. Please arrive at your exam on time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late from the start of your exam booking, you must wait until the exam room door opens again or reschedule your exam.

Accessible exam room A026, Päätalo, City centre
This single-seat exam room is intended only for students of Tampere University who require a separate exam room, accessible access, or a personal assistance exam.
The exam room is located on the 0th floor of the A-wing in the Päätalo building on the City centre campus. You can access the room by elevator from the main lobby or via the corridor on the 0th floor. There is also a route marked with a metal profile on the floor leading to the room from the entrance of the Päätalo building’s corridor. Please leave your belongings in the locker inside the exam room during the exam.
