Ball Games

All SportUni campuses have large sport halls for different kind of ball games.

 

Reservations

Ball games time slots may be viewed and single bookings reserved from the Selection calendar.

Universities’ guilds, sports clubs, departments etc. organized groups have the right to reserve permanent bookings. Permanent bookings application time is in every spring. Time slots are granted for academic year (1.9.-15.5.) at time. Summer time bookings are applied separately. Ask more about permanent bookings from campuses’ Sport centre managers. Also contact managers, if you want book halls for events or something special.

Please follow the hygiene instructions in ball games

  • Train 100 % healthy
  • Wash and disinfect your hands
  • Clean equipment after use
  • Don’t enter the group exercise hall before it’s empty

Badminton

  • Selection calendar shows the time slots for one week at a time. The time slots for the following week are published every Thursday at 8:45 am. You may reserve max 3 slots per week.
  • You may exceptionally bring one person outside of SportUni community to play badminton with you if necessary.
  • If your playing partner is not a member of SportUni he/she needs to pay 6€ one-visit-fee.
  • Doubles is possible in Hervanta campus courts 2&5.
  • Badminton court reservation may be used also in some other sport (table tennis etc.).
  • You can rent a racket from SportUni reception:
    • Racketrent 3€/time slot
    • Buy new shuttlecock 2€
    • Hervanta and Kauppi Centres: Buy new racket Victor; 20€/45€
    • Prices incl. 24% VAT.

Table tennis

  • You need to reserve a badminton court to play table tennis from City Centre or Hervanta.
  • You may exceptionally bring one person outside of SportUni community to play table tennis with you if necessary.
  • If your playing partner is not a member of SportUni he/she needs to pay 6€ one-visit-fee.
  • In City Centre Atalpa you can rent equipment for table tennis, price 3 euros.
  • Tamppi Areena ball gaming storage room has two table tennis tables and equipment.
  • Also Kauppi campus sports centre has a table tennis table and equipment. Reservation is not needed to use the table. If you want to play table tennis in ball hall, you need to reserve badminton court and move table tennis table there yourself.

Billiards

Tamppi Areena has a 9-foot pool table.

  • Selection calendar shows the time slots for one week at a time. The time slots for the following week are published every Thursday at 9 am.
  • You may reserve one hour per week. It is also possible to use the table without reservation.

Open ball gaming slots

Open ball gaming slots give you a chance to play for example futsal and basketball with others entering the slots. There are open shifts in several ball games, such as volleyball, basketball, floorball, futsal, etc.

Beach volley

Beach volley court is located at Hervanta campus.

  • Selection calendar shows the time slots for one week at a time. The time slots for the following week are published every Thursday at 9 am.
  • One group may reserve 1,5h per day. It is also possible to use the court without reservation.

Ice hockey

  • SportUni has an ice hockey slot at Hervanta ice hall (court 2), Ruovedenkatu 1.
  • Open to everyone who has paid the SportUni fee. No enrollment needed.
  • Games are played with hobby series rules and with full ice-hockey equipment.
  • You need your own equipment.
  • Thursdays at 8:45-10:00, 2.9.2021 – 31.3.2022.

Other ball games

Hervanta campus has a hitting wall located in Bommari. Bouncless wall may be used to train golf, baseball, disc golf etc.

Terms

  • The ball game time slots start when scheduled. It is recommended to finish gamings 5 minutes before end to enable a smooth change-over.
  • Everyone attending the gaming times must have a valid SportUni fee or One-visit-fee.
  • People outside of the University community are not allowed to participate in the time slots, excl. exceptions mentioned.
