Access Rights to SportUni Sports Centres

Vastaanotto Kauppi

When you pay the SportUni sports fee (seasonal fee), you can access the sports centres during their opening hours using your personal access card. The access card is the same one you normally use on campus, such as a physical student/staff card or a virtual access card installed on your phone.

When arriving for exercise, you must scan your access card not only at the external door reader but also at the reader located at the sports centre reception desk or on the wall. No card scan is required when leaving.

The external doors of the sports centres remain locked, so without access rights you can only enter during customer service opening hours.

Access rights to the sports centres are either updated automatically to your access card for each payment period or must be reactivated at the sports centre reception, depending on where you study/work and which sports centre you use. The sports centres use the same access control systems as their respective campuses. As a result, SportUni sports centres currently operate with different access control systems, although these will be unified over the coming years.

SportUni Sports Centres

Kauppi

Access rights to the sports facilities are automatically updated after all payment methods for TAMK students who already have a functioning access card on the TAMK campus. Access rights are updated with approximately a 24-hour delay after payment has been made. For others (TAMK staff, TAU staff, and TAU students), access rights will be updated to the access card at the sports centre reception during the first visit.

Hervanta

Access rights to the sports facilities are automatically updated after all payment methods for TAU students and staff who already have a functioning access card on the Hervanta campus. Access rights are updated with approximately a 24-hour delay after payment has been made. Otherwise, access rights will be updated to the access card at the sports centre reception during the first visit.

City Centre and Hippos

Access rights to the sports facilities are automatically updated after all payment methods to your virtual access card or to your new physical student/staff card (from autumn 2025 onwards). Access rights are updated with approximately a 24-hour delay after payment has been made.

If you do not yet have the university’s virtual access card, activate it using the message sent to your TUNI email address from noreply@stidmobile-id.com. If you cannot find the message, the link has expired, or you need a new virtual access card (for example, due to changing phones), you can order a new one through the Virtual Access Card page on the intranet.

Important Information

  • If you are visiting with per visit fee, you do not need a separate access card. Access is then only possible during reception opening hours. You cannot visit Hippos, because there is no reception.
  • If you pay directly via the Smartum or ePassi app (rather than through online payment), your access rights must be activated at the sports centre reception.
  • Always scan your access card every time you use SportUni services.
  • The access card is personal and may not be given to another person.
  • The higher education community has access regulations and defined sanctions for violations related to access rights.
  • You do not need to present a receipt for the sports fee, as customer service staff can see your payment in our register. However, electronic payments may take up to 24 hours to appear in the system, so please bring your payment receipt if you need access rights immediately after payment.
  • If you are a new student and have not yet received your student card, you must check in at reception and present a valid photo ID every time you visit the sports facilities.
