City Centre Atalpa
SportUni City Centre, Atalpa, includes a ball game hall, a group exercise room, a stretching room, and two gyms. The facilities are also rented to external users when possible. The Atalpa building also houses, among other things, the Normal School’s upper secondary school (floors 1–3).
Ball game hall
The ball game hall (852 m²) is located on the entrance floor (floor 0) of SportUni Keskusta. The hall can be divided into three sections using partition curtains. The ball game hall can be used for various sports, such as floorball, futsal, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and table tennis. The hall accommodates six badminton courts. The floor is a Pulastic elastic sports flooring.
Group exercise room
The spacious and bright mirrored hall (300 m²) with a flexible parquet floor is located on the entrance floor (floor 0) of SportUni Keskusta and is an ideal space for group exercise classes and dance sessions. The available equipment includes dumbbells, barbells, exercise mats, step boards, resistance bands, sticks, jump ropes, exercise balls, foam rollers, Pilates balls, yoga blocks, blankets, boxing gloves and pads, as well as punching bags.
Stretching room
The stretching room (60 m²), located on the basement floor (floor 00), has a tatami-covered floor, making it suitable not only for traditional stretching and bodyweight training but also for various group exercise sessions, martial arts and contact sports. The TRX suspension trainers and gymnastics rings makes it easy to do functional training. In addition, the room includes equipment such as a plyo box, medicine balls, and mini dip bars. The stretching room is freely available to customers whenever there are no instructed classes taking place (e.g., martial arts courses). Gyms
The gyms (80 m² and 220 m²) are located on the basement floor (floor 00) of Atalpa. The larger gym includes treadmills, rowing machines, cross-trainers, stair machines, and exercise bikes for warm-ups, as well as a comprehensive selection of traditional gym machines (Matrix and Gym80). The smaller gym is equipped for free-weight training. All equipment is serviced twice a year and additionally whenever needed.
Outdoor gym
The outdoor gym located in the courtyard of the main building on the City Centre Campus allows you to do versatile functional training with various equipment whenever it best suits you. The outdoor gym includes, for example, bars, benches, weight plates, and ropes.
Customer service
Customer service is located in the entrance lobby (floor 0) of SportUni City Centre. During office hours, a sports coordinator works at the customer service desk, and in the evenings and on weekends, a hall supervisor is on duty. At the customer service point, you can, for example, ask for assistance with issues related to sports fees and access cards. Please remember to scan your access card at the customer service desk when you arrive at the centre.

Changing rooms
On the upper floor (entrance level) of the SportUni City Centre, there are two women’s changing rooms and one men’s changing room. For the lockers, you will need your own padlock. You can also rent a lock (2€) or purchase one (16€) at the customer service desk. In addition, the upstairs changing rooms have some key‑lockers available for visitors and one‑time users. The changing rooms include toilet facilities (including accessible toilets) and showers. There are also separate men’s and women’s toilets, as well as an accessible toilet, in the entrance lobby.
On the basement of the SportUni City Centre, there are women’s, men’s, and unisex changing rooms. For the women’s and men’s changing rooms, you will need your own padlock. You can also rent (2 €) or purchase (16 €) a lock at the customer service desk. The unisex changing room has three lockers with keys. All changing rooms include toilets and showers. The women’s and men’s changing rooms also have saunas. Sauna opening hours. There is also a separate accessible toilet on the lower floor.
Self-Service Laundry
Wash your clothes conveniently during your workout in the self‑service laundry. A 7‑kg industrial washing machine and a tumble dryer are available. The prices are 2 € per wash and 1 € per drying cycle. Reservations and payment are made at the customer service desk.
