SportUni Hippos is located at Uimalankatu 1d, ground floor (0. floor).
Access to SportUni Hippos is via the lobby of the Uimalankatu 1D building (1st floor) during its opening hours. Outside of these hours, entry is through the back of the Uimalankatu 1D building via the staircase to the ground floor. Doors leading to the SportUni facilities are marked with SportUni logos. You can also reach the facilities by lift from the lobby of the Uimalankatu 1D building.
Customer service for SportUni Hippos is provided by the SportUni Kauppi customer service desk.
Virtual Access Card
Access to the gym is granted with a virtual access card downloaded to your smartphone (used at both SportUni City Centre and Hippos). Once you’ve paid the SportUni sports fee, you will automatically receive an instruction email to your TUNI email address. The message will be sent from stidmobile-id@stid.com or noreply@stidmobile-id.com. The email will guide SportUni users to download the STid Mobile ID app and activate the virtual access card.
The door is opened with the virtual access card, and the card must also be shown to the reader inside the gym.
If you are unable to use the virtual access card for SportUni Hippos/City Centre facilities, you can collect a physical access card from the SportUni Kauppi customer service desk during its opening hours.
The SportUni Hippos gym is included in the SportUni sports fee, except for single-entry payments. Residents of the Hippos buildings who are not students of the Tampere higher education community (TAU/TAMK) may use the gym with a separate fee.
Tips for Hippos!
- Use the virtual access card to enter – show the card also to the reader inside the gym.
- Bring your own lock for the lockers.
- Let’s keep the gym tidy – return equipment after use.
