SportUni restricts ball games and contact sports at its centres according to Pirkanmaa's corona restrictions

The corona situation in Pirkanmaa is still in an accelerating phase and the situation has significantly deteriorated within a week. Pirkanmaa’s interest rate restrictions will be tightened from Thursday 26 November 2020.

In Pirkanmaa’s corona restrictions on sports for people over the age of 20, it is recommended that team and contact sports, matches and competitions be suspended indoors from 26 November to 15 December, excluding national team, Finnish Championship and Division 1 training and competition activities.

Thus, SportUni ball game and contact sport shifts (volleyball, basketball, budo etc.) will be cancelled on all campuses from November 26th to December 15th. Badminton can still be played in the ball halls. Players can organize other sports in their shifts, where a safety distance of 2 meters can be maintained. The Pirkanmaa corona restriction does not apply to such adult activities where the participants’ safety distances of two meters are maintained throughout the training.

SportUni group exercise classes and gym activities will maintain the same way as before, ie the number of visitors is limited. Special attention should be paid in group exercise and gym to safety distances of 2 meters to another person.

The mask recommendation is used throughout the universities buildings, and there is also a strong recommendation to use the mask whenever possible in SportUni premises, especially in public and changing rooms. Safety distances should also be remembered in public and changing rooms.

So remember these:

  • Use face mask when possible
  • Train 100 % healthy
  • Wash and disinfect your hands
  • Remember safety distances, 2 meters
  • Use towel covering the mat, or bring your own mat
  • Clean equipment after use
  • Don’t enter the group exercise hall before it’s empty
